Appointments:
Dr. Deutsch sees patients by appointment only and asks that you call in advance so that we may reserve time for you. If you are ill, we will attempt to see you the same day. If circumstances prevent you from being seen in the office, Dr. Deutsch will attempt to work with you and direct your care over the telephone.
If you have a certain time that you must have your routine appointment, it is best to call at least two weeks in advance. We try to see all the patients on time, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please call us as soon as possible so that it may be given to another patient. At the time of your visit, advise the receptionist of any changes in address, telephone number, or insurance coverage.
Telephone Calls:
We encourage you to call with questions you have concerning your healthcare. However, it would be unfair to other patients if the doctor disrupts treatment to answer routine phone calls. Our staff is trained to answer most questions. If your call requires speaking to the doctor, office staff will take a detailed message and Dr. Deutsch will return your call at the earliest convenience.
Fees and Payments:
We make every effort to keep down the cost of your medical care. Co-payments and deductibles are due at the time of your office visit. For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
Prescriptions:
All prescriptions and authorizations for renewals should be requested within normal office hours. Non- controlled prescriptions will be called into your pharmacy by the end of the work day. Please call one day in advance for refills of controlled substances. Routine prescription refills may be authorized up to a maximum of one year after the last visit.
Emergency Care:
In the event of a severe emergency, go immediately to the emergency room of the nearest hospital and ask them to contact Dr. Deutsch. If a non-emergency situation arises when the office is closed, the answering service will promptly forward your message to the on-call physician. You will receive a response as quickly as possible.
Referrals:
If your insurance company requires a referral before seeing a specialist, we ask that you give at least 48 hours advanced notice before your appointment. Due to the large number of referral requests we receive on a daily bases, we need this time to process your referral. Please make sure the specialist you would like to see participates with your insurance. If your insurance requires precertification for diagnostic tests, please advise us of this when we are scheduling the test for you.
